Our Story
Macon Ice Cream & More was originally opened in March 2006 in the former Milton's Shoe Shine Parlor on East Prairie Street as Macon Ice Cream. The location was chosen to compliment the existing boutiques and restaurants and to contribute to the growth of Decatur's downtown as an exciting and diverse business center. The retail enterprise has heightened community awareness of the Macon Resources agency, but more importantly has shown the community the potential resources people with disabilities have to offer.
Our customers love our ice cream and asked for more flavors and a place to sit down. So we expanded and re-opened in September 2007 at 190 Merchant Street. This location provides indoor and outdoor seating, an expanded menu, and provides additional training and work opportunities for people with disabilities.
Products & Flavors
Our gourmet ice cream, gelato, sherbet, sorbet, and Italian ice is made fresh on-site with only the highest quality ingredients. We offer a selection of fresh baked scones or muffins daily. Our Belgium waffles and waffle and wrap sandwiches are truly unique and one-of-a-kind!

Enjoy gourmet creamy, fresh Macon Ice Cream from the comfort of your own home or office! Our take-home pints and quarts are perfect for family gatherings and celebrations!! What are you waiting for? Let Macon Ice Cream & More help with your special event! Our location is the perfect place to hold a family or business gathering. Whether it's for 15 people or 40, we can provide a delicious breakfast or brunch buffet and we'll open just for you, from 8:00 to 10:00am any day of the week! For $8.30 per person, your guests will enjoy scrumptious Egg Cups with your choice of bacon, cheese, mushrooms, or onions, Muffins or Scones, Waffle Wedges, Fruit, Coffee, Hot Tea, Juice, and just for fun - add a kid scoop of ice cream! We have a casual and quaint atmosphere and seating for up to 44 at individual tables for easy visiting.
I Scream, You Scream - we all scream for Ice Cream! Plan an ice cream social at Macon Ice Cream & More! We will open just for your group of 20 or more on any Sunday afternoon. Great for family gatherings, church groups, service clubs, or other organizations! Each guest can purchase their own ice cream or pay as a group as ordered - you can choose from our entire unique ice cream menu!
